Why I Love Treasuries

The Etsy treasuries are picks from the various Etsy shops chosen by other Etsy artists.  It is such an honor when your items are selected.  If these treasuries turn out to be popular; i.e., tons of clicks, tons of view, tons of comments . . . well, you get the drift.  The Etsy admin staff will choose different treasuries to be featured on the coveted "Front Page of Etsy" and/or even selected for an "Etsy Finds."

Each one of these coveted spots will bring hundreds of views to your particular item and shop; thus increasing your chance for sales.  I know we all LOVE to create and make our treasures, but to be honest with you, we are all about the sales!!

The Etsy teams work to help each other gain notoriety and possibly reach those coveted spots.  We help each other to succeed.  Success is dependent on the person and their particular goals.  Yes, we all make goals.  Some on paper; some on an inspiration board; some in coaching sessions; others in whispered prayers; but we all make goals or promises we make to ourselves.

My latest goal is to reach 300 sales by my Etsy anniversary in May.  Others set their goals by dollars made in a particular time period, or bills paid.  We all create our beauties with the intent to share them with the world and are thrilled when someone 'out there' finds our creation and loves it enough to purchase it.  When we wrap our treasures in our own artistic method and tuck it in the package to send to a new home, we all smile.  We are one step closer to our goal and our item made from our imagination and with love will soon be with someone that will love it (we hope) as we intended.

Feedback is such an important thing for the artist to receive.  We anxiously check the feedback each day just as we check for sales.  It makes you proud and happy all over again to receive some great feedback and to find out how much your item is liked and cherished.

So, I started out just trying to let you know why I love treasuries and why they are important for those of you who aren't Etsy regulars.  For some reason this turned into a full fledged article.  Sorry, I know I usually carry on about Hockey!!

Speaking of . . . the Colorado Eagles are in the Turner Conference Finals!!  Starting Friday!!

Okay, that's enough for tonight, but please do take the time to look at the shops included in some of these treasuries.  You may find a new treasure, or a lovely gift for Mother's Day, or a birthday, or an 'atta girl/boy . . . leave me a comment to let me know what you found.

Spring Weddings!

Spring is here and those brides are working hard to get ready for the upcoming wedding season.  I am busy trying to keep up with those eager brides.  Let me share some of the latest trending and pieces I am creating.

Black Onyx with Teals
Teal is a popular color this season; and I have one bride that wants it combined with black and ivory.  Here is one necklace I made for her review, which features a large black onyx focal piece and ivory with teal pearls.  I am still waiting for her decision.  We will see if she wants changes or likes it the way it is.
Matching earrings

Here are the earrings she requested to match the necklace.

Next the brides are all about flowers in their pieces.  This necklace is one of the most popular and are made with a variety of changes to match the wedding theme.
Going to the Chapel
I am currently making this one with dusty rose pearls and cream roses.  I will be sure to post a picture when they are finished.

Pretty Pretty Princess

Okay, no one has requested this one, but I made it up when I got a wild hair and thought it turned out so precious.  Let me know what you think.  You know the brides always want something that no one else has--ha! I know this will fit the bill.

What about the earrings??  Some are looking for the vintage estate style, while others want something just pretty to match their colors.

Now to end this little piece I want to share with you my pièce de résistance.  I worked on this one for quite some time and I think it turned out great!

Crystal & Pearl Necklace
I absolutely love a challenge and am thrilled when a bride shares her dress pictures with me and I am able to create the jewelry she envisions.  I always request finished pictures from the special day and will share those with you as I receive them.

January is COLD!!

The entire nation seems to be in a giant deep freeze!  I know it has been extremely cold here--so cold I skipped a free lunch!!  Really, I'm not going out when it is 8 degrees BELOW zero; not even for a free Indian Taco!

This big chill has done more for me besides freezing the lakes thicker for my husband to go ice fishing; it has given me time to get a little more organized at home.   I have been tossing and cleaning, when I'm not in the studio.

I keep coming up with new ideas and then I drop everything to head to the studio to work on the new idea.  Tonight I made a cute little Valentine Heart bracelet!

We want to think ahead for the upcoming holiday, don't wait until the last minute to get your orders in!  I know I have to think ahead so I can ship my gifts to my girls in Florida.

What about a nice red heart necklace with earrings?

Sometimes we want to think more practical for some of our gifts, if so let's think Oil & Vinegar bottles!  These little bottles have been so popular.  Not only for food items, but for dish soap, bubble bath, laundry items; i.e., fabric softener, liquid soap, etc.  Each bottle comes with a pour spout.

Whatever you choose to give, remember hand made!   . . . and stay WARM!  Hopefully, it will be warmer by Valentine's Day.

My Very First Etsy Treasury!

I've been watching all the hype surrounding these Treasuries and now I understand! It is so fun to go through all the crafters on Etsy and find great items that you love! Then it is equally as exciting to post them for the world to see! I hope you enjoy this Treasury as much as I did making it.
