Spiders, Jack-O-Lanterns, Fall Colors, Skulls & Crossbones

This weekend was the Greeley Tribune Art & Craft show at Island Grove. Although the weather refused to cooperate, we still had a nice turnout. Certainly not fair weather shoppers since we had a dip in temperature and received a wonderful, albeit chilly, rain to quench any Autumn thirst the plants and trees may have.

Kady's Pet Couture was set up in full holiday spirit. We offered many choices for those Diva pets in your household. We continued on the college theme by adding the Nebraska Huskers, as well as some lovely UNC Bears items. So cute and very popular this time of year. We even had some Bronco collars, although our Broncos lost their game, a true fan will continue to wear the blue and orange.

Since October is National Breast Cancer awareness month we have a special Pink Ribbon fabric, which also has some lucky Lady bugs on it, with some pretty pink bows to which I also added a generous spattering of sparkles to create the special look we were after.  For each Pink Ribbon collar sold this month, we will donate $2 to the Breast Cancer research fund.

We had such a great time meeting the people and many had their adorable little fur babies with them!!  Sweet!

Next Saturday we plan to be at the Johnstown Quilt and Craft Festival.  Bring out your little doll to meet us and see what new items we will have for you.

Large Craft Shows

So, I've learned a very important lesson over the last week. Large craft shows are not always money makers! KK Originals and Momma Goddess Treasures took the leap for a chance to show their jewelry skills and possibly make some money for the holiday season. Unfortunately, the promoter did not "saturate the market with advertising" as promised, so we did not have a very large attendance. The venue was huge and in a lovely place, the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, but the crowds were not available.

So, lessons learned: 1) don't believe everything a promoter tells you; 2) make the most of the opportunity--we did network and met some wonderful people; and 3) don't be discouraged.

We have gotten back into our studios and are continuing to create more one-of-a-kind items and treasures and we will continue to feel the value of making an awesome piece of jewelry for the lucky consumer that does find us.

Art in the Park Garden City

Okay, I'm going to try again. This weekend is back to Kansas for the Art in the Park in Garden City. Mention this blog for 10% off any item. Last week the wind blew so hard we could not put our items out, so let's hope it will be a nicer day for us on Saturday.

Greeley Arts Picnic

The Arts Picnic in Greeley was quite successful. We had an awesome time and met so many new people!! Here are a few of the pictures from our two days!

New studio layout

I bought a great little four piece desk set shaped in an 'L' for my studio. Found it in Craig's List for a very good price. So today we are rearranging and reorganizing my studio!! Yahooo! It will be so organized I wonder if I will still be able to create?? So, I'm still working hard on treasures for the Arts Picnic in Greeley on July 25 and 26. It will be my first one and I'm trying to make sure I have plenty to offer and also set everything up in a nice way. Wish me luck! I'll post some pics when I get it all set up.
