Gas Money to go to my Mom's House

Yes, that is correct; I'm talking about gas money to make the trip to my Mom's house in Oklahoma.  I know you have all noticed the price of gas lately.  Wow, with prices soaring to the $4 mark it makes a little 13 hour drive to my mom's house really expensive.  So, to help offset the outrageous cost of gas to get my husband, myself, and our two little dogs to visit Grandma, I am offering special prices on earrings.

Spread the word -- baby needs new shoes!!  Oh, I mean, the pickup needs a full tank!!!

Here they are just sweet and simple AND totally affordable!!  Get several pair for yourself; stock up for your friends; get a little holiday shopping out of the way; just get to the shop and buy buy buy!!!

Large Filigree Leaf Earrings $9
Big and bold--these earrings are so in style right now!!

Just a Little Heart $6.50

Silver Goddess Style $9
Need a pair of nice, long earrings that are lightweight and match everything??  Here you go!

There is definitely something like a sea creature feel to these.  They have great definition and texture, plus they have the little waves to create a unique look.  Extremely lightweight and guaranteed to be worn again and again.

I have more, but don't want to drive you crazy--so just run to my Etsy shop to check out these great finds, as well as some $5 angel wing earrings

Now, if you have the need for some bling--never fear--head to my regular website for lots of sparkle.
Sparkle Ball Stretch Bracelets

I have a few of these sparkly stretch bracelets in purple, blue, silver, and black.  These are only $12 each, but if you buy 2 or more they are then $10.
Glam Rhinestone Bangles

Now these bangles are magnetic and super fun to wear!!  I picked up quite a selection of colors, but don't have too many in stock--so don't delay if you want some of these pretties!  $12 each or $10 for 2 or more.  While they last!!!

Okay, that should give you plenty to think about and I know some of you have already received that income tax refund, so spend it on some Bling, Baby!!!

Something Green - UWIB Blog Hop!! Join in!!

Nowadays when you hear the words 'something green' you are immediately drawn to the ecosystem that we have ignored for so many years.  Let's try to be more 'green' by recycling, carry our own bags into the store, carpool to work or play, buy a Smart car; the list is long and every little bit helps.

But what about St. Patrick's Day at this time of year??  Don't we think green when that date starts to role around?  Wear green, drink green beer, celebrate the Irish in any way we know how.  What is St. Patrick's Day all about anyway?

St. Patrick's Day is on March 17th because it is believed to be the day the saint died.  Before his death, he is said to have brought the Christian religion to Ireland.  "Saint Patrick's Day has come to be associated with everything Irish: anything green and gold, shamrocks and luck. Most importantly, to those who celebrate its intended meaning, St. Patrick's Day is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide" (www.st-patricks-day.com).

Regardless of the reason you 'think green' let's see what we find to help you along those lines via handmade avenues on Etsy presented by those Unique Women in Business team members.  First, I found a adorable dog collar:

Crazy for Collars offers this piece of Green!

Let's go straight from our beloved pet to that precious little baby or grandbaby:

Fashion Touch does wonders with green yarn.

What about for ourselves:

AudreyGardenLady can twist beads & wire like crazy!

Or a gift for Mom/Sis/BFF:

LMCreations can cut fabric to fit!

Let's think about really going 'Green' with this double duty tote--made from an upcycled tee into a great tote with a SHAMROCK on it!!  Talk about Green!

Rita's Creations serve double duty with Green!

Now I would like to introduce you to some other UWIB team members that are blogging "Think Green" and give you a chance to see what those witty women think when they hear the term.  Check them out, leave a comment and tell them I sent you!!

After you check them out come back here and leave me a comment telling me which one you think hit on the same meaning you have when you Think Green.  I will send one of you a cute pair of green shamrock earrings as a gift.  (I will use Random.org to draw the winner.)

The prize:

Momma Goddess Think Green prize

Okay, here's the list:  Happy Green Hunting!!!

Vintage Creations

I have fallen in love with some vintage trinkets I've found.  I just love creating things that have either a Victorian or romantic feel about them.  I did receive some beautiful items from an estate of a recently deceased lady, Victoria, and have enjoyed thinking of ways to keep her love of pretties alive by reviving them.  This piece is the first of my creations:

Next I felt the need to utilize some gorgeous antiqued gemstones in combination with antiqued brass chain, and of course, I had to include some of my hand painted silk to finished them off as bracelets.
I loved these clear stones and utilized a pretty peacock colored silk to coordinate with it for a romantic bracelet with chains.
This bracelet contains some gorgeous fire opals with pretty pink gemstones with the antiqued brass chain and finished off with the rich burgundy silk bow.

And we all love pretty earrings, so I had to create some simple and elegant earrings utilizing these vintage stones.

I've included just a few of the earrings, but if you want to see more, stop by the Etsy shop.  Remember, these won't be replicated so don't wait too long.

Now I have a great little bag of rhinestone necklaces, brooches, and earrings that I picked up at an antique sale . . . what to design with these???

Stop back often to see what I come up with for your bling pleasure!

Feedback from customers is GOOD!

I love interaction with my customers, like most people I especially enjoy positive feedback.  Recently, one of my customers requested some special 'ear pins' made for her daughter.  I had already been working on something similar, so I quickly finished them and sent her pictures.  She purchased them for her daughter and later returned to buy a pair for her niece.  Her daughter claims, 'she was the coolest girl in school,' and who wouldn't love that??

I have since sold more pairs with a little variation.  Today one of my customers sent me a picture of these unique earrings and I want to share it with you.  I now call them Ear Vines since they vine up your ears like a plant.

Here's my model Debbie Anderson (cute little ear, isn't it??):

I have them on my Etsy site with different crystals and some with just plain silver beads, as requested by Bridget for her daughter.  Contact me if you want a different color or style and I'll do my best to please you.

Bridget's feedback: "This is the second pair of these fabulous Ear Pins I have purchased from this wonderful shop. The Ear Pins arrived quickly and beautifully packaged. The workmanship is exquisite and the design is fun and unusual. This is a great shop with wonderful customer service and I will definitely return soon."

I love trying new things and when it pleases the customer, it doubles the enjoyment.  Give these little 'ear pins/vines' a try--you will love them.

Last Day of Nice Weather!

Today was the last day of nice weather here in Colorado--for a few days that is--and I spent most of it in the studio. I have some wild ideas spinning around in my head and I must create before things get lost in the proverbial fog. I do try to sketch ideas out when I can't be in the studio, but sometimes pieces just call to me.

So, today I worked on a lovely piece with antique brass, copper, gold, and gunmetal chains. Then I added some hand-painted silk to give it some warmth. Oh, I must admit it is turning out to be spectacular! I will try to take some photos, but there are so many beads calling me I'm not sure when I can stop long enough to snap the shots!!

I did make a few sample earrings for one of my brides for her bridesmaids and I believe she has made all her selections, so that will keep me busy for awhile as well.
