Bridesmaids for Fall

I just finished another order for a little bride planning to be married in Key West later this Fall.  She has selected some beautiful pieces that I would like to share with you.

She is having a persimmon strapless dress for each bridesmaid and selected these necklaces for them to wear.  Brown, tan, and ivory colored glass pearls all mixed with various crystals in tan and copper colors create a lovely blend of warm colors.  The earrings are always included for free with the purchase of a selection of bridesmaid jewelry.

I love her choices and wanted to share this with you.  She will send us a finished picture of the big day!  Personally, I believe I should actually head to Florida and visit Key West to ensure all jewelry is worn correctly, don't you???

Spring Weddings!

Spring is here and those brides are working hard to get ready for the upcoming wedding season.  I am busy trying to keep up with those eager brides.  Let me share some of the latest trending and pieces I am creating.

Black Onyx with Teals

 Teal is a popular color this season; and I have one bride that wants it combined with black and ivory.  Here is one necklace I made for her review, which features a large black onyx focal piece and ivory with teal pearls.  I am still waiting for her decision.  We will see if she wants changes or likes it the way it is.

 Here are the earrings she requested to match the necklace.

 Next the brides are all about flowers in their pieces.  This necklace is one of the most popular and are made with a variety of changes to match the wedding theme.

Going to the Chapel

 I am currently making this one with dusty rose pearls and cream roses.  I will be sure to post a picture when they are finished.

 Okay, no one has requested this one, but I made it up when I got a wild hair and thought it turned out so precious.  Let me know what you think.  You know the brides always want something that no one else has--ha! I know this will fit the bill.

What about the earrings??  Some are looking for the vintage estate style, while others want something just pretty to match their colors.

Now to end this little piece I want to share with you my pièce de résistance.  I worked on this one for quite some time and I think it turned out great!

 I absolutely love a challenge and am thrilled when a bride shares her dress pictures with me and I am able to create the jewelry she envisions.  I always request finished pictures from the special day and will share those with you as I receive them.
 

 

Hair Pins vs. Bobby Pins -- Who Knew??

It is wedding season again and those brides are out selecting all the important essentials for the fairytale wedding they have always dreamed about.  

I have been making hair combs and hair pins or what I thought were hair pins with pearls and crystals.  Now I find out that I've been making bobby pins!  Yes, I remember using bobby pins and calling them that, but now my latest bride has educated me about the difference between hair pins and bobby pins.  

She wants hair pins--they are just to decorate the hair; not bobby pins--they are for hold.  Okay, it does make sense to me.  So, I am now stocked with lots of hair pins as well as my combs and bobby pins.

Single Pearl Hair PINS

This little bride wanted the one ornate pin with pearls and crystals, with a dozen of the single pearl pins.  I will certainly try to get a picture of her hair for the special day, but my imagination envisions quite a head of hair with special curls and little pearls throughout.  I believe this will be a gorgeous look and I am anxious to see the final result.

So my shop now offers both hair pins and bobby pins, as well as hair combs.  I have different sizes of combs now so stay tuned for the preview of those little treasures.

October Bride

I love to make pretty things for the brides and their wedding party.  So often, though, I don't get to see the finished product in action.  I made six sets of the Tara Necklace in Bronze and they ended up so lovely.

 I believe her wedding was on the ever popular 10/10/10 date and she chose espresso dresses and these bronze sets.  

I received a picture of the beautiful bride with her fair maidens surrounding her.  What a treat to see the final culmination of all her choices.

What's a Leg Without a Garter?

The final touch for any wedding is the garter for the lovely leg of the bride.  There will be plenty of fun at the reception when it comes time to remove said garter and throw it to the crowd.  Some grooms are shy and will gently remove the garter with their hands, trying to be as gentlemanly as possible; while others will use their teeth to grasp and remove the lovingly worn garter.  Either way, it was fun to make some garters for the upcoming nuptials.  My creations thus far:

Okay, those are her three choices for this wedding.  She will be wearing her white gown with grape heels, I love her style!!

And finally, one to throw!  The brides are now wanting to hang on to the keepsake garter so they request a second one to throw.  A little smaller so her leg isn't completely full as she walks down the aisle.

Have we forgotten anything?  Oh, surely so, but it won't be missed if we did.  Perhaps after the big event we will have pictures to show the items in action!

Remember, if you are planning an upcoming wedding, get started choosing items as soon as possible.  I am always available to make custom jewelry, hair accessories, and garters.  Every bride should feel like a Goddess!!

Did Someone Say Hair Bling??

One of the important little decisions a bride must make is how to wear her hair.  She wants to look absolutely stunning for the day and be able to move  and have fun as well.  Should she wear it up?  Should she wear it down?  How will the veil fit?  Will there be a veil?  What about the reception--after the veil comes off??  So many questions to answer.  Most brides will meet with the hair dresser far in advance of the big day for a trial run.  Some take their veil, some show up with nothing, and others will appear with a handful of bling to be utilized in some manner.

I have had several orders for the big day bling.   Here are a couple items from two different brides:

Sparkles and Pearls on hair pins to be scattered throughout her hair.

Small delicate comb with crystals and pearls for a delicate touch.

One chose the larger comb to fasten to the top of her veil.

While one chose a comb with feathers attached to give her a touch of drama!

Each bride has a different and unique vision for her special day and I'm only too happy to help them achieve that perfect vision.

Adorable Flower Girls in Every Wedding

Yes, we all have heard the horror stories of the flower girls in many weddings, but we continue to have them because they are so darn cute!!  The wedding I'm working on at the present is no different.  They have selected an adorable little flower girl to be part of that 'oh, so special day.'   So, tasked with the idea that she, too, needs some bling for the wedding, they sent me a picture of her dress (with her in it, of course).

Here she is in all her glory!  They will have flowers for her hair, but her interest was in the sparkles she saw all around her.  So we made sure she would sparkle as well.

                                         

I made her a delicate little necklace with teardrop crystals in the front and a nice stretchy bracelet with crystals to match the bridesmaid necklaces.  Now, I hope she will be able to stop looking at her sparkles long enough to throw some flower petals down as she meanders down the aisle.

I'm working on some custom wedding jewelry for a new client and I'm having a great time. She has marvelous ideas and mixed with my creativity it should be a wonderful mix!
